In photography, exposure can be described as the process of directing light at a photo sensitive medium (film or an image sensor for digital photos). It is the job of our camera to provide various means of controlling this light and our job as photographers to make sure we use these means to render a properly exposed image.

Exposure Photography Problems
There are many errors that can come up in exposure if you don’t know what you’re doing. If you’re wondering if your photo’s a result of poor exposure, check out the list below of photo problems caused by exposure…
- Camera blur
- Image too dark
- Image too bright
- One part of image properly exposed but another part too dark/bright
- An image that is not clear — a lack of depth of field
The solution is to start measuring light and then using these measurements to correctly set your camera settings.
For starters, become acquainted with the basic controls: shutter speed, ISO, and aperture. This will help you correctly set the proper settings and avoid things like blur photos (Which comes from a shutter speed that is too slow or an aperture that is too small).
